Lawes Consulting Ltd, est. 2002, was founded by Dr Rachel Lawes. It exists to supply consultancy and research to global brand owners, consumer insight firms and ad agencies. Best known for: semiotics.
Dr Rachel Lawes is a futurist, marketer and the author of two ground-breaking books on the business applications of semiotics. ‘Using Semiotics in Marketing’ (2nd ed. 2023) is the most comprehensive guide to semiotics for market researchers ever published. Her second book, ‘Using Semiotics in Retail’ won an award: best book on Sales & Marketing, Business Book Awards 2023.
Rachel’s PhD is in social psychology. She retains links with the academic community but has spent most of the last 25 years supplying semiotics to brand owners and marketers around the globe. In 2022, Unilever reported that the sales uplift produced by its shopper marketing app doubled as a result of input from Lawes semiotics. Rachel is a familiar, trusted expert in the global semiotics community. Rachel is a Fellow of the Market Research Society, a lifetime recognition award, in this case, specifically awarded for innovation in research methods.
